Matt is the director of philanthropy and engagement for Weantinoge Heritage Land Trust. Matt earned a B.A. from Vassar College in philosophy and an M.A. from New York University in non-profit management. While at NYU he led student and volunteer groups throughout New York’s five boroughs, as well as across the country, and wrote his master’s thesis based on his community engagement experiences. Matt has been a fundraising professional for the past 15+ years, serving as director of development for both the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and Bard College. While at Bard College he helped launch their 150th Campaign to raise $500 million. He brings to Weantinoge extensive experience in major gift cultivation, capitol campaigns, development communications, and community engagement.
Matt is an avid outdoorsman and gardener. Having grown up on a family farm in Dutchess County, New York, that no longer exists, he brings a very personal perspective to land conservation. “I’m thrilled to join the talented staff at Weantinoge in their pursuit of protecting natural areas, wildlife, and working farms in perpetuity.”
