The first weekend in June is Connecticut Trails Day, part of a nationally coordinated day celebrating all muscle-powered trail activities! Interested in spending time outside and meeting other hiking enthusiasts? Weantinoge has organized a series of Trail Work Days for volunteers. Volunteers help ensure our trails are in great condition and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for hikers. Participants join Weantinoge staff and meet at the chosen preserve and work for about 3 hours with hand tools to trim back vegetation, clearing branches off the trail, and improving directional blazes with paint. The Pratt Glen preserve was devastated by the May 2018 macroburst and was closed to the public for much of 2019.
