Trail Work Day
May 3 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Interested in spending time outside and meeting other hiking enthusiasts? Weantinoge has organized a series of Trail Work Days for volunteers. Volunteers help ensure our trails are in great condition and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for hikers.
Participants join Weantinoge staff and meet at the chosen preserve and work for about 3 hours with hand tools to trim back vegetation, clearing branches off the trail, and improving directional blazes with paint. All materials and hand tools will be provided. We strongly recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants tucked into your socks, and bug spray to discourage ticks and other bugs.
On May 3rd we’ll be working at the Kahn-Nostrand Preserve which provides access to the highest point in New Milford, Bear Hill. If you’ve ever driven north on Route 202 through New Milford, you’ve seen Bear Hill! Join us for a chance to get to know this New Milford landmark.
